online gh map and in my app the route is calculated as shown on the picture
all the roads shown are of the same class
the route is supposed to be calculated as straight south and then right turn and then straight north-west to the arrow
the green line is what gh calculates, this applies to my graphhopper 1.0 and this is also how it calculates the route on the graphhopper online map
how can this be changed?

I was looking at this location on the osm site and found that the road that I wanted gh to route me on, with fewer turns, has 2 humps, but the other 2 roads do not have any humps.
How and where in the source can I try to give priority to the straighter routes rather than those with humps?

If you know the road_class of the smaller roads you can de-prioritize them via the custom model or prioritize bigger road classes.
To reduce turns in general you can use this new feature in upcoming 11.0. Or see here for an older, less powerful version of it available since 10.0.
