Online GraphHopper navigation with Locus Map

I was interested to read of the new online GraphHopper navigation facility in Locus Map version 3.25.0. I continue to use the add-on, updating the routing data myself from time to time. I had an issue with GraphHopper’s Driving Directions at https://graphhopper.com/maps/ that I use on my desktop: the one ‘Foot’ option took me along vehicular roads instead of footpaths, yet the GraphHopper add-on with Locus Map would direct me along the very footpaths I would choose to take. I raised the issue on GraphHopper’s own forum, without success. Here is the difference: I choose ‘Walk’ with the new online GraphHopper and it takes me along vehicular roads; I choose ‘Hike’ and it takes me along footpaths, just as the add-on. I am extremely pleased with that result. It begs the question, I guess: might https://graphhopper.com/maps/ be expanded to have the same ‘Walk’ and ‘Hike’ options?

Without exact examples it is hard to tell what is going on, please include a link to GraphHopper Maps. Also there will be no difference IF and only if:

  • the same OSM data is used
  • the same GraphHopper version is used
  • the same GraphHopper configuration for import and request is used

I raised the issue on GraphHopper’s own forum, without success.

What do you mean? We are here on the GraphHopper forum, so this is the right place to ask

I thank you for your reply.
I should have explained in my post: “…without success” refers to the post I created on June 28. The reason I wrote yesterday was that I was so delighted to find the example I use always of a walking route between two particular points routed correctly when choosing the ‘Hike’ option in Locus Map, which is not available distinct from ‘Walk’ in GraphHopper Driving Directions - only ‘Foot’, which does not route as I wish.

I have revisited https://graphhopper.com/maps and am extremely embarrassed: I am presented with three icons - Car, Foot and Bike - I have been totally unaware until today of the three dots following, which, having clicked it, offers so many more modes, including Hike, plus a question mark that explains the modes. Please consider this topic closed; I apologise for the inconvenience I might have caused.

Hmmh, maybe we should make this more explicit with the buttons. Will have a thought.
